This is a nice long lasting shrinkwrapped glossy lithograph with UV coating in thick paper,cropped, and mounted on a single 8x10 inch backing board **which is included as part of the print that you can see here (see photo) and it not a mat board cutout, with caption and photographer information on the back of a Hawaiian surfer and his dog "hanging ten" (toes on the nose) at Waikiki Beach, circa 1950s? (Sorry we originally listed as 1930s which was apparently an error) It is shrink wrapped to protect it from damage and has photography and preservation tips included in the label on the back. Some folks tell us it was old timer surfer/boxer "Scooter Boy" Kaopuiki, and his surf dog 'Sandy' although a relative says it was not him. It remains a mystery to us? Please note that in the near future real black and white silver halide photographic paper will cease to be available as manufacturers phase out production because of digital photography.  Please be aware that this photo is unlike newer computer digital prints because the original was shot on older grainy black and white film, and has some minor imperfections (dust marks) that you can't see here. It has the unique look of a silver halide gelatin photo, and is still a very nice historic and artistic print.It would make a great birthday or holiday gift for someone who likes historicHaleiwa building images of Hawaii. This photo is printed on thick glossy surface paper and the photo offered has more gray tones, deep, richer blacks, less contrast, and has the unique look of a real silver halide gelatin print, which has a different tonal range and brightness than you may see on your individual computer screen.It is printed on 8x10 inch paper from a copy negative and margins may be slightly trimmed. **When it is cropped and attached to the single mat 8x10" backing board you will be able to see the backing board around the borders of the print. It makes the print look like there is a margin around the edges of the photo which you can see here. Prints are permanently mounted to the acid free backing board using an archival photo adhesive and cannot easily be removed from the backing board without damaging the photo. An 11x14 inch frame (or larger) with a custom cut mat from a frame shop or art store is the suggested way to display this photo. If you want to use a larger frame and mat and you can't find an experienced framer who knows how to do it, contact us and we can provide information explaining how it can be done. This is recommended for best visual and artistic impact in displaying this photo, although many people are happy using a standard 8x10" frame and displaying the image as is. We also have a few 11x14's unmounted of this print also, please inquire.
