Beautiful cast iron English umbrella/cane stand dates back to the early Victorian era around 1840, and came out of a Boston estate full of Horner cabinets and other fine furniture. It's unique in that it features two lovebirds sitting atop a quiver full of arrows and a face with agricultural headdress and cornucopias. Acanthus leaves on the sides of the base and removable drip tray.
At some point it was painted white (see pic), but is so old that even that has almost naturally completely worn off the front. It's around 180 years old, and even though we use mini-umbrellas these days, you could easily spray paint the stand any color and use it indoors or outdoors (like in your garden) as a decorative plant holder or conversation piece.
The TV show "Pawn Stars" was interested featuring in this piece in an episode, but it would have required a trip to Las Vegas during the lockdown.
Stand is 30" tall by 17" wide and 8" deep and weighs 25 pounds.
Can be seen/picked-up in Corona or Costa Mesa, CA.
