Offered for your consideration is this very beautiful Antique French Sterling
Silver Sugar Sifter from Late 18C to Early 19C. This lovely Sugar Sifter is
wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver 950/1000 purity
higher than standard 925/1000 sterling,) having a classic contoured decoration
on the handle and ornate hand-piercing pattern on the bowl. Hand-engraved
initial G.P. is highlighted the charm of this old-world serving piece.
Excellent condition.
Hallmarked 1. French Coq Rooster mark for 950/1000 sterling silver, used in
Paris between 1798-1809.2. Guarantee mark of City of Paris. 3. Mark of
Association des Orfevres. 4. Discharged mark of City of Metz, used between
1780-1791.5. Silversmith’s master mark, could not find the reference.
Measurements & Condition
6.5 inch (16.5 cm) long x 2 inch (5.2 cm) width at the bowl.
Weight 44 grams (1.41 troy ounces, 1.5 oz)
Excellent Estate Condition. Less than usual age-related light scratche marks
on the surface.
